Happy Camp Man has Pleaded Guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter

James Roberts, 30, pleaded guilty in Humboldt County Court Monday afternoon to involuntary manslaughter. The case stems from last December.  The Humboldt County D.A.'s office says Roberts shot and killed his wife Breonna Roberts after she got into an altercation with some teenagers who, she suspected, stole her vehicle. Humboldt County D.A. Paul Gallegos says this is a tragedy that could've been avoided if James Roberts had chosen not to take the law into his own hands. Roberts is due back in court on June 20th for his sentencing. He faces up to 4 years and 8 months in prison.
