Baby Seal Update
Living ont he North Coast and seeing sea life goes hand in hand. But last night a concerned resident called News Channel 3 while we were on air about a seal pup who seemed to be stranded on the beach. She told us that she had called authorities for help but no one would respond so finally she called us hoping we could do something. The North Coast Marine Mammal Center tells us that sometimes mothers will leave their pups on the beach when they feed. Because of this story, the center went out Thursday morning to check on the pup and as of this morning, the pup was no longer on the beach so they believe the mother came back to pick it up. But, it's always better to be safe than sorry. If you ever see an animal you think may need help, stay back and call the Marine Mammal Center at 951-4722.
