Fire Leaves 6 Arcata Residents Homeless
A half dozen Arcata residents are homeless after a fire ripped through an apartment complex. It happened near the intersection of Samoa and I Streets just before 8 p.m. Thursday night. Arcata fire investigators say no one was seriously injured. Some residents complained of smoke inhalation but refused medical treatment. Fire officials don't know the cause of the fire. Two units sustained fire damage and other units had smoke damage. The Red Cross is helping those residents who were displaced.
