EPD CADET / EXPLORER PROGRAM BEGINS WITH 5 ENROLLED

The Eureka Police Department is proud to announce the official start of its new Cadet / Explorer Program. 5 cadets (one female, 4 males) between the ages of 15 and 18 years enrolled in the program, which started last Thursday evening (May 12, 2011). EPD is still looking for more cadets, who may enroll at any time. Interested individuals meeting the program requirements are encouraged to apply.

The Cadet / Explorer program is for young adults between the ages of 14 and 20 years old. The program is designed to expose young people to Law Enforcement and what officers do and why they do it. Explorers will attend two meeting per month where they will learn and participate in exercises covering all aspects of Law Enforcement. Explorers will also have the opportunity to ride along and participate with sworn law enforcement officers during their regular patrol duties.
