Willow Creek Murder Arrest

The investigation into the Homicide of Darrell Hanger Sr. of Willow Creek is continuing. Yesterday, at about 4:30 p.m. Samantha Machado aka Samantha Smoker, who was wanted on a Homicide warrant for this investigation, was taken into custody without incident near a residence at the 600 block of West Del Norte St. in Eureka. Samantha Machado is the third suspect in custody at this time. 
 The Eureka Police Department Problem Oriented Policing Team (POP) received information that Machado may have been in this area and conducted a surveillance of the area. Shortly after receiving the information, Machado was taken into custody.
The Eureka Police Department POP Team, Investigators from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and Detectives from the Eureka Police Department, continued it’s investigation and served a search warrant at the residence where Machado was seen leaving. The fourth outstanding suspect, Bruce “Jason” Hunsucker was not located during the search and is still outstanding and considered armed and dangerous.
Samantha Machado was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and is being held on a $1,000,000.00 bail.
