DUI Enforcement this Memorial Day weekend

Officers from the Fortuna Police Department will be conducting a special DUI enforcement saturation patrol this Memorial Day weekend to crack down on drunk driving in the city’s ongoing effort to improve traffic safety, save lives and prevent injuries.

The Special DUI Enforcement will start on Friday, May 27, 2011 in Fortuna with a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint starting at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Main Street in Fortuna.
Fortuna Police Department would like to remind people to be responsible and designate a sober driver. Officers will be looking for impaired drivers and if you are driving impaired you will be arrested.
The Special DUI Enforcement will continue on Monday, May 30, 2011 (Memorial Day) in Fortuna with officers conducting DUI Saturation Patrols within the City of Fortuna.
The Fortuna Police Department would like to remind citizens to drive safely and you’re encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 9-1-1 if you see a suspected impaired driver.
Funding for this operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
