Memorial Service for Sophia Parker Pedreros

The 2 year old who was found dead in the Trinity River on May 21st will be celebrated on Thursday June 2th.
The Parker family is inviting the public to Sophia Parker Pedreros memorial service at Humboldt State University.  The Event starts at 6pm at the Campus Events Field on 17th st and B st.  Family says the university has waived parking fees for the evening so parking will be free.
On May 20th, Sophia and her Mother, Claudia Pedreros were reported missing from their McKinleyville home.  The following morning Pedreros was found on Highway 3 in the early morning hours near the Trinity River nakes walking along the side of the road.  Shortly after her car was found but there was no child inside.  At the time Pedreros claimed she didn't know she had a child.  That afternoon law enforcement found 2 year old Sophia Parker Pedreros body in the River.  Claudia Pedreros allegedly admitted to Trinity County Sheriff officials that she had held her daughter underwater to drown her and she then let the current take the body down the river.
Claudia Pedreros is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday June 1st at 1:30pm in a Weaverville court room.
