One Dead in Trinity County Helicopter Crash

A Trinity Pine man died over the weekend in a helicopter crash. Trinity County Search and Rescue found the aircraft in a remote area 3 miles west of Weaverville in the Democrat Gulch. The 51-year-old was a student pilot and was scheduled to fly round-trip from Hayfork Airport to Weaverville Airport. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and aren't releasing the pilot's name until the next of kin is notified.
