The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office seized nearly five hundred pounds of marijuana from a residence in Fieldbrook on Thursday, with the help from several federal agencies. Newschannel 3's Cameron Cramer has more on this massive bust.
Humboldt county sheriff's deputies, along with the us marshals, DEA and FBI served a search warrant for a property along this road in Fieldbrook, and what they found was overwhelming.
"When they got their they found a couple of individuals at the house and about 500 one pound bags of processed marijuana that was for sale.” Said  Said Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Steven Knight
Deputies arrested 38 year old James Edward Shelton and 28 year old Zo Jamieson for cultivation and possession of marijuana for sales...the sheriff’s department said the quarter ton bust was unusual.
"Normally we don't find that sizeable quantity packaged and ready to go to market.” Said Knight And that sizable quantity would have fetched an hefty sum on the market...
"Assuming it's being sold for 3000 dollars a pound you're looking at about 1.5 million dollars in processed marijuana” Said Knight
More than a million dollars just in processed marijuana, but authorities found more.
"There was also 298 marijuana plants that were growing that were also found on the property from 1 to 5 feet in height, and each of those plants could have yielded anywhere from a half- pound to a pound of marijuana depending on how they're cultivated." Said Knight
And while a sizable bust is promising news, authorities admit the case is anything but closed.

“They intend to follow up on this case and anticipate more arrests in the future, they have more investigations to do as i understand and are dovetailing out from this--this is one point in their investigation and they intend to go further in it." said Knight.
