Del Norte Redistricitng Could Affect Congressman

 
NEW MAPS RELEASED THIS WEEK BY THE CALIFORNIA CITIZENS REDISTRICTING COMMISSION SHOW THAT DEL NORTE COUNTY’S CONGRESSMAN AND STATE SENATOR MAY BE TAKEN AWAY…
these maps changed only slightly since we first reported their release in june… but the new lines would displace state senator doug la-malfa and congressman mike thompson… redrawing district lines where neither representative lives.
the lines update the state’s congressional, state senate, assembly and board of equalization districts using the latest census data.
if these new lines are approved, la-malfa will no longer be able to represent the north coast, and mike thompson might not be representing del norte county. ..a public review period is scheduled to take place after the final maps are released on july 29th.
