CHP Officer dies of cancer

After a year long battle with cancer, C.H.P. Officer Christina "Chris" McPherson died last week. McPherson joined the C.H.P. in 1999. Prior to that, she was a correctional officer in Humboldt County. McPherson is remembered as a remarkable officer with a great sense of humor who loved her job and family. Officers say that she truly cared about making the community a safer place. Her funeral will be held at the First Assembly of God Church in Eureka. McPherson would have been 41-years-old on July 30th.
