Suspicious Fires in Eureka and Arcata

 Over the past seven days, fire officials have been called out to several fires in our area. Which brings up the question… are any of these fires connected?
Suspicious means there could be a mechanical failure, an electrical issue potentially, or it could be human-caused.
Fire officials say these fires are not all connected. Although they are considered suspicious, they treat each incident as a separate investigation.
When suspicious fires turn into a criminal investigation, Eureka Fire turns them over to Eureka Police.
They're like a multi-agency group of investigators that utilize each other's expertise to help solve an investigation.
