A Eureka man is arrested for possessing an explosive.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says David Bollig was apprehended at the 5100 block of Vance Avenue. Deputies initially responded to a possible drug activity call over the weekend.
They say they found Bollig was with several other people at the time of his arrest, including his 11-year-old son.
Deputies add Bollig was on probation for child endangerment. When they searched the home they found 2 plastic soda bottles, which housed a potentially explosive substance.
The Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad removed the bottles.
The suspect is in custody and his son was released to a relative.
