Small Earthquake wakes up North Coast

A 4.5 magnitude earthquake shook the North Coast in the pre-dawn hours this morning.  The quake, whose epicenter was located 5 miles southwest of Rio Dell and 11 miles south of Fortuna happened at 4:53am this morning according to the US Geological Survey.  The quake was followed by a smaller 3.2 magnitude aftershock approximately 4 minutes later.  There have been no reports of injuries or damage.
