SUSPICIOUS FIRE IN VACANT HOUSE; Cause Is Under Investigation

A suspicious fire breaks out in West Eureka. Humboldt Bay Fire responded to the house in the 900 block of West Harris Street. Firefighters found smoke coming from the house and were able to locate the blaze in one of the bedrooms. Officials say the house appeared to be vacant. Thus, they're treating the fire as suspicious. It took firefighters about 5 minutes to extinguish the flames. Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the authorities.
