A hit and run turns into a big mess for one Arcata neighborhood. Just after 2 a.m. a white truck smashed into a fire hydrant at 11th and Louis streets, leaving the water main gushing onto the street. Police are still looking for the person who caused the accident; the suspect ran from the scene. Police don’t know if alcohol was involved. They say that the car is registered but the owner has not contacted Police. If you have any information you can contact Arcata police at 822-2428.
