Apple’s iPhone 5 officially hit stores today after much anticipation. The AT&T store on Broadway in Eureka said they said they had sold out in 2 hours after opening their doors. Store management said they had a line that started at 10:15 Thursday night and by 6:30 Friday morning about 40 people we’re waiting to make their purchase. Apple says the new model has a quicker processor and access to faster 4G networks. Eureka assistant store manager Sean Henry says demand for the “5” is up, and the hype was worth waiting in line.

"Its just a new look, Apple does it right. A lot more excitement around this one, just people lining up, we always have people lining up for the new iPhone but this has definitely been unprecedented demand."

The Verizon store in Eureka also reported having an overnight crowd waiting to buy the phone. At 3pm Friday they still had a few in stock.
