SURVIVING RARE CANCER: NO TREATMENT IN THE COUNTY

McKinleyville, CA- A local woman is fighting a rare type of cancer. She says she’s sought treatment in the county, but says no one here could help her. She now travels out of the state to get treatment.Jenny Lawrence, has been fighting a nauseating, painful experience. The news came just two years ago that she has appendix cancer. Like any determined person to fight back, she tried to find an answer, any answer, to her rare type of cancer. She went to several medical institutions but she claims they said they did not have an answer for her.She has only 11 more weeks to go.  She’ll finish her last chemo session on Christmas Eve. Lawrence wants two things for Christmas this year….To be cancer free and to be home.A bake sale fundraiser will be held this Saturday and Sunday at the Safeway in McKinleyville.
