ARCATA POLICE TO INCREASE PRESENCE ON PLAZA HALLOWEEN 2012
After damage and criminal actions last Halloween, Arcata Police say they're increasing their presence on the Arcata Plaza this year. There was extensive damage done to the McKinley Statue on the plaza on Halloween 2011. Arcata police say they're not tolerating this kind of destruction this year. There will be a zero tolerance policy for any violations.
They say they will cordon off the center of the plaza in order to prevent graffiti, vandalism, public urination, indecent exposure, and illegal climbing of the statue. Entry into the center area will be strictly prohibited. Police added that drinking alcohol and having glass containers is prohibited and if caught you will be arrested.
