Klamath, CA- The Hoopa Yurok Vocational Rehabilitation Program hosted a day of disability awareness. It’s in honor of Disability Awareness Month.
The focus today was on disabilities that we’re not born with, and encouraging people to not let those disabilities hold them back.
Organizations from the state, tribal, and local levels shared presentations to support those with disabilities. Rehab, work discrimination, and independent living were all topics of discussion.
For many, every day is a struggle. Triggers, relapses, and temptations are issues that recovering addict, Dino Franklin Jr. Faces everyday. He now uses his experience to support others dealing with addictions.
