EPD: TOTAL OF 5 SHOTS FIRED DURING STANDOFF THURSDAY, FROM 2 GUNS

A News Channel 3 update tonight on the 8-hour standoff between gunman Jeffrey Morgan Wood and SWAT that ended Thursday morning; Initial reports said that shots were fired during the standoff, Friday police investigators say there were five shots fired from two separate guns and one of those shots was in fact fired at police. Detectives with Eureka Police say that shot went through the front door. They say they found bullet holes in the walls and ceiling and a total of five guns inside the home- 328 Cooper Lane- after serving a search warrant. Police also found a hydroponic marijuana grow, adding to Wood’s charges… which already include discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner and threats of death to officers.
