Eureka, CA-After being put on “Show Cause”- the most severe sanction- the committee tasked with evaluating accreditation for College of the Redwoods has wrapped up their evaluation.

College of the Redwoods has completed their end of the bargain by showing evidence to a specialized accrediting committee that they are operating at the accreditation standards.
The visiting 6-member team is lead by the president from Mt. San Antonio College; Dr. William Scroggins. The other members are from various colleges from the state.
President Kathy Smith says she's very optimistic about the outcome of the visit.
Smith, "We feel that we were able to demonstrate to them that we had responded to the recommendations and we had addressed all of the comments that they had made in their report last fall."
The accrediting team is now tasked with writing a report on their findings. That report will be submitted to the commission by the end of November. The ACCJC will then meet and determine CR's accreditation status.
A decision on the accreditation status for College of the Redwoods is likely to come some time during the beginning of 2013
