Eureka, CA- The struggle for higher wages continues for IHSS workers.
Right now the Humboldt county In Home Care providers are gathering to protest at the Humboldt County Courthouse.

This month is In Home Care Provider appreciation month, and the vigil was put on to honor In Home Care providers nationwide.
However, they are taking to the courthouse to bring public awareness to their wage increase struggle.
Currently, IHSS workers make minimum wage and they have been asking the Humboldt County board of supervisors for a 75-cent raise.
But the supervisors continue to deny their request. The president of the union told us, "We are here we are standing strong we are not going away we are going to have victory and our providers are going to be recognized for the proud and serious work that they do for the community."

We spoke to a Humboldt County Supervisor who told us they stand by their previous statement. They said they would have to cut public safety in order to give them a raise.
