McKinleyville, CA- Donations keep pouring in for Teira Manfredda; the McKinleyville Girl Scout who uses her iPad to speak. That iPad was stolen from her parent’s car last week outside of Grocery Outlet in Eureka.  After some generous donations over the weekend Teira has a new iPad and much more.Teira Manfredda is happy to have her voice back and wants to thank the community for their support.Teira received the iPad after her mother got a phone call from the co-owner of Simply Mac in Arcata. Colleen Leydecker, Teira’s mother told us, "he said that a gentlemen came in and wanted to purchase the iPad for her."The gentleman, a San Francisco bay area resident was visiting family in Humboldt County when he saw the story and wanted to help.It was a team effort, the gentlemen paid for the cost of her old iPad and Simply Mac took care of the rest. Teira’s mom tells us the story of when Teira was handed her new iPad. Leydecker said, "he had it behind his back and he took it out and she grabbed it from him and said mine."The community continued to donate money even though the iPad was already purchased. Teira’s mother tells us the support was overwhelming, "I can't put into words how I feel. Its so incredible how this community has rallied around this little girl."Today she continues to receive donations and our cameras were there when she received a donation from a woman outside of ray’s food place. In total Teira has received $1,200.00. Leydecker said, "We opened a savings account at coast central credit union under Teira's name and the rest of the donations we received have gone in there."Colleen Leydecker told us that Teira’s story has gone nationwide, and has received calls from across the country, "I got a text on Saturday from somebody in Wisconsin who had picked it up on macdailynews.com...I got a message from somebody in North Carolina as well.”Teria happy to have her iPad back can now use it to help her sell girl scout nuts and candies.
