TWO FOUND DEAD AT BIG LAGOON, ONE STILL MISSING

A family of three has been torn apart today. Two people have been found dead at Big Lagoon, one person is still missing.
Around 1:30 PM, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a family of three, being swept into the ocean. So far the bodies of an adult male and female have been recovered... A juvenile male is still missing.
The identities are being withheld at this time by law enforcement. Witnesses say the family’s dog went into the water; they tried to rescue the dog, that’s when they got swept into the ocean.
Deputies say some family members were on scene. The case is now being handled by State Parks.
