Eureka City Schools has received a donation of 5 acres of land right next to the high school baseball field. It happened at the board meeting Wednesday night Superintendent Dr. Fred Van Vleck says it came from a prominent community member who says because he wasn’t using it was “just the logical thing to do.” Van Vleck says the donation allows for the possible expansion of the high school sports complex in the future, but more likely in short term will be used for sustainable gardening for the district. Another possible use for the land will be for use by natural resource management and biology classes.
