Moment of Silence for Newtown Victims
Eureka, CA-At the request of Connecticut governor Daniel Malloy, Governor Jerry Brown asked for Californians to observe a moment of silence today in honor of the victims.
As the clock hits 9:30, the moment signifies the exact time, one week ago when shots were fired inside of Sandy Hook Elementary.
In Eureka, Alice Birney paused their Friday movie, to pay tribute to those who will never see 5th grade.
Teacher, Brad Albee says that he and other staff members are helping the children realize that school is a safe place.
Bells rang 26 times in memory of each life lost that day. Firefighters and many first responders paused outside the Sandy Hook fire station.
To lose so many innocent children, and courageous adults during what’s supposed to be a joyous time of year is heart breaking.
But to hear encouraging words from children, can be uplifting.
