PEDESTRIAN DEAD AFTER WALKING ONTO HIGHWAY 101

 A pedestrian was struck while on HWY 101 this morning. Today he died while in the hospital. Highway patrol confirms 40-year-old Ethan Pinney of Eureka succumbed to injuries that resulted from being hit by a car that was traveling southbound on highway 101.
It happened around 5am this morning, just South of the South G Street exit.
Pinney may have been intoxicated at the time when he walked into oncoming traffic. And was reportedly wearing dark clothing.
The investigation is on- going. And CHP says the driver was not at fault.
