EUREKA, CA- No-kill animal shelter Sequoia Humane Society’s long established Tailwaggers Thrift Shop is welcomed to their new location today. As the Eureka Chamber of Commerce cuts the ceremonial red ribbon

It’s not just your average thrift store. Tailwaggers began as a place dedicated to provide shelter and humane care for animals. Sequoia Humane Society Executive Director Nancy Flemming said, "We have wonderful treasures. But best of all every penny spent here benefits the sequoia humane society. And helps all our pets in need."

The Sequoia Humane Society is a no-kill shelter that depends on the generosity of the community. Flemming added, "It sustains the shelter. Provides all the services for the shelter. And its treasure trove for people out looking for really good deals."

Tailwaggers has outgrown the original 800 square foot building.
And to celebrate the new move, they kicked off their grand re-opening using those ceremonial giant scissors to cut the red ribbon. Flemming said, "well were so excited. Because we doubled almost tripled our space."

Established in the 1970’s Tailwaggers is moving just up the street to the historic Finnegan and Nason building on F Street in Eureka. Helen Karganilla, the manager of Tailwaggers told us, "Its a much needed move. Several people have requested that we should go to a more large space to accommodate all the merchandise we have here.”

And they already seem to be at home in their new spot… especially the animals.
