BREAKING: PEDREROS WILL REMAIN IN JAIL PENDING TREATMENT AT STATE MENTAL HOSPITAL

Trinity County, CA- Claudia Pedreros will remain an inmate of the Trinity County Jail until a bed becomes available at the Napa State Hospital, where she will recieve mental health treatment. The McKinleyville mom was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of child abuse and enhancement of a death of a child for the drowing death of her two year old Sophia. In May of 2011, Sophia's body was found dead in the Trinity River, Pedreros was found walking naked on the nearby Highway 3. She was sentenced by a Trinity County jury in December.
