EUREKA -- A fire breaks out at a house in Eureka.
Fire crews were called out around 10:15 p.m. Thursday evening to a house on U Street between Everding Street and Hodgson Street.
Humboldt Bay Fire received reports of heavy black smoke in the area, and that the reporting party could see flames coming from inside the single-story, wood-framed residential structure.
Fire officials say no residents were present when they arrived. After searching the home, they discovered nobody inside.
No details yet on how the fire got started.
