DFW INVESTIGATING DEAD DUCKS ON FICKLE HILL ROAD

The local Department of Fish and Wildlife is investigating after 21 dead ducks are found along Fickle Hill Road. DFW representatives say they were found about 2 miles from Arcata on December 29th. The 21 wild ducks of five different species appear to have been killed with a shotgun. No meat was taken, and the ducks were abandoned to spoil next to the road. The number of ducks discovered suggests that persons responsible may have taken more than the number of ducks permitted by law… and the fish and game code prohibits the waste of game.
