THE SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING PERSON JASON LOVELL
ARCATA, CA- The search for missing Arcata man, Jason Lovell continues. Friends and family have been forming search parties across the North Coast, after he went missing late Friday night.
Jason Lovell works at the Humboldt State bookstore and was reported missing after he didn’t show up for work for two days.
Friends Sara Stanton and Yamilet Alas have been walking all around Arcata and Eureka posting flyers. Stanton added, "He is so unbelievably smart, and very funny. He is always talking; he is just a really great guy. This is not like him for sure… he usually calls in to say he is going to be late, or not come in."
Not only is Jason their close friend, but he was suppose to move in with them this past weekend. Alas added, "I know he likes to be alone and go to the beach and stuff but he would never just completely get up and leave without telling anyone."
Jason was last seen right here in Arcata around 11:45pm. His car is still where he left it, untouched and locked. Alas said, "he is still receiving voicemails. Which makes us believe he is checking his voice mails, because it can only hold so many messages. But his phone is not on and hasn’t been on since Friday."
Jason is said to be a happy person, always laughing and full of life. But friends tell us there is another side to him. Stanton added, "He has been depressed. And he can get very high and happy one minute and he will just kind of go from zero to sixty in a minute."
Friends believe that this may be the reason why he has disappeared, but say they will not stop looking for him. And this is their message to him:
Stanton said, "Jason we love you. You need to know that and we are all hoping that you come home as soon as possible."
Alas said, "I love you. I have your sierra GS bag and I’d like to give it to you. Just come home we miss you.
Law enforcement was not available to comment, but say they are still investigating the case.
If you have any information about Jason you are urged to call Arcata Police at 822-2424.
