ARCATA PARENTS ARRESTED AFTER 2-YEAR-OLD FOUND NAKED ON ALLIANCE ROAD

Two Arcata parents have been arrested for child endangerment after their two-year-old is found running naked on Alliance Road. Arcata police say it happened in the 2500 block of Alliance Monday afternoon. They say a passerby saw the 2-year-old unclothed running in the roadway. The passerby tried to find the child’s parents, then took it to a nearby apartment complex and called police. Officers identified and located Threase Rhyne and Jesse Gitchell. They were arrested for child endangerment after investigation reveals they had been asleep when the 2-year-old left the apartment out an unsecured window. The 2-year-old and a 1-year-old also living in the home were taken into protective custody.
