A Fortuna woman is in intensive care in San Francisco after an incident at a local chiropractor’s office. Fortuna police are investigating. Police responded to a medical aid on Monday afternoon around 2 p.m. at D’Amico Chiropractic in the 400 block of North Fortuna Boulevard. When they arrived on scene 32-year-old Julie Hall, an employee at the office, was having seizures. She had allegedly asked a practicing chiropractor at the office to adjust her neck after complaining of headaches. Police say she then started seizing, and when they arrived on scene she was unresponsive. Hall was taken to Redwood Memorial Hospital and later flown to U.C.S.F. Medical Center for further treatment where she remains in treatment as of Wednesday afternoon. D’Amico Chiropractic was closed on Tuesday following the incident. The practice reopened Wednesay morning. Office staff says David D’Amico will remain out of the office until next week. The state board of chiropractic examiners does not currently show any disciplinary actions or citations against D’Amico’s license.
