Eureka, CA- The Human Rights Commission wants Humboldt County Supervisors to repeal Ordinary 2488, regarding public use of courthouse grounds.
Today, Supervisors Mark Lovelace and Rex Bohn met with the HRC and members of the public to receive input about the ordinance, which limits public access to the courthouse.
The Human Rights Commission says to limit non-damaging use to the courthouse is a violation of rights, referring to safety hanging signs and banners. Supervisor Bohn says the ordinance wants to prevent any damage from happening to county property. Today is only about discussion; Supervisors say no action will be taken.
