The Trinidad Chamber of Commerce has been given an extra $3,000 to fund their tourist’s attractions. That’s $7,000 less than they were asking for at last night’s council meeting. They were looking to receive $10,000 to fund their website, update signs and visitor center. The Trinidad City Council already gave the chamber $2,000 in October, totaling $5,000 for the year. The Trinidad City Council says they could not give them the full amount because their budget has already been set. In the future the council says the Chamber of Commerce will get a percent of the occupancy tax, so if the tax goes up so will the chambers funds.
