MASTER PLAN FOR BEACHFRONT PARK COMPLETE: $35K GRANTED FOR DEVELOPMENT
CRESCENT CITY, CA- The master plan for Beachfront Park in Crescent City will be presented to the City Council tonight at 6pm. After gathering community input, the city is ready to expand the park. City officials say the master plan includes something for everyone, with a putting green, dog park, soccer field, and amphitheater. The updates are being funded by a $35,000 community development grant. The park is used for their annual 4th of July celebration, but city officials say they the purpose of the plan is to attract more community members on a daily basis. City Manager Gene Palazzo said, "The really unique aspect of this is that the park and Front Street downtown will all tie in with what the harbor is doing in their master plan concept. So we create that connectivity throughout the community... And it gives people a lot to do. After Wednesday’s meeting the plan will then go to the planning commission for review, and then back to the city council for approval.
