BREAKING: 2 HUMBOLDT COUNTY FAIR BOARD MEMBERS SUBPOENAED
A Humboldt County Grand Jury has subpoenaed two members of the Humboldt County Fair Board. Fair office staff members say they were approached Thursday by a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy who was looking to serve current fair board president Tim Renner. Second vice-president of the board Jeff Farley has also been served. Farley tells News Channel 3 he’s unsure of what exactly the subpoena concerns.
The fair board has been subject to recent controversy over their decision not to renew Humboldt County Fair general manager Stuart Titus’ employment contract after 22 years of service. There have also been issues at board meetings and with some local media about the Brown Act; what information from meetings is deemed public.
The board is set to meet on Monday night at the fairgrounds in Ferndale for their next regularly scheduled meeting.
Stay with News Channel 3 as their search for a new general manager continues.
