This month the Supreme Court will be hearing a constitutional challenge to the Voting Rights Act (VRA); it is a distinct possibility it will be struck down. College of the Redwoods Political Science professor Ryan Emenaker was invited by SCOTUSblog to write in a symposium regarding what the Supreme Court should do in the case. SCOTUS- stands for the Supreme Court of the United States and the SCOTUSblog is the premier research and news site on the Supreme Court.

Emenaker was the only community college faculty member invited to write for the two-part symposium. The other authors come from: Yale Law School, Columbia Law School, NYU School of Law, Stanford Law, the Cato Institute, George Washington Law School, Duke Law, University of Chicago Law, University of Michigan Law, Ohio State University Law, the Heritage Foundation, the United States Commission on Civil Rights and a few other prominent schools and organizations. Emenaker is the only community college faculty to ever be asked to write for SCOTUSblog.
