EPD: RUN-OVER SUSPECT IN CUSTODY ON ATTEMPTED MURDER WARRANT

Eureka Police are reporting that 50 year old Darren Silva has been taken into custody on an attempted murder arrest warrant. Silva was wanted for a hit and run incident in which police say he ran over his victim, 50 year old Margaret Contreras, leaving her in critical condition.
Police say he was arrested by deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office. Details of the arrest are forthcoming, stay with News Channel 3 as the story develops.
