Loleta, CA- Loleta Elementary School celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday and National Reading Day by wearing wacky hats and having visitors come read to various classrooms.
District 1 Supervisor Rex Bohn said, "Reading opens so many doors. I know we text and we use the abbreviations and everything else, but the full force of reading and opening a book and turning the pages is so important and you can learn so much."
140 colorful, striped hats sat atop every teacher, student, and staff member.
The St. Joseph Foundation bought the felt and the Loleta Chamber president organized the sewing.
Dr. Seuss is known as the best-selling children’s author of all time.
