EUREKA TRAIL GRAND OPENING TOMORROW

A new trail is opening in Eureka.
 
A grand opening celebration will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the foot of Truesdale Avenue in Eureka, just south of the Bayshore Mall.
 
Construction for trail began in 2011, but the initial idea came about in 2005.
 
Grant money from Pacific Gas and Electric, California River and Parkways and the Coastal Conservancy funded the $1.7 million dollar project.
 
Event goers can hear from people involved in the Elk River Trail project while enjoying food and drinks from local vendors.
