SOME SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT SCHOOL PROJECTS NEARING COMPLETION

Construction being done at Southern Humboldt Unified schools is nearing completion after less than a year of work.
The Special Services building at Redway School is almost finished and is getting ready for classes to move in.
 
At South Fork High School buildings for ‘The School Within A School’ project are up. The project will house middle school students and district officials say they can expect to be in by this fall.
 
However, high school grades will be moved into those classrooms first… while the high school is modernized. Plumbing, heating and electric will be improved.
 
The upgrades to the schools are possible through a bond that local voters passed back in June of 2010.
 
The next step is to modernize the High School's gym and add new lockers.
