HEAD-ON CRASH IN SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT LEAVES MAN WITH MAJOR INJURIES, DUI ARREST
A head on collision sends a Myers Flat man to the hospital with major injuries, he was later arrested for the crash. Highway Patrol officers say it happened around 5:30 Monday night on Elk Creek Road east of State Route 254. Officers say 48-year-old Faron Boldt was headed east when he crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a Santa Rosa man head on. It had the road shut down for about an hour to clear the victims and scene. Boldt sustained major injuries as a result, he was arrested at the scene for suspected felony DUI. He was taken to Redwood Memorial in Fortuna and released to the hospital due to the severity of his injuries. The other driver only had minor injuries. Highway Patrol officers are still investigating the crash.
