CRESCENT CITY IMPROVING TOURIST SERVICES WITH A $700K GRANT
Crescent City is improving a tourist service with about $700,000 in grant money. As part of the tsunami disaster relief fund, the federal grant money will go towards a complete renovation of the Shoreline RV Park. It’s a city run park located right on the bay off Sunset Circle. The city took over the RV Park in 2006 and is now in the design phase. They say the park is old and run down, and so they will be replacing sewer lines, paving the roads, and reconstructing the electric and water lines. City officials say the purpose of this project is to establish long-term economic stability. Mayor Richard Enea said, "Brings in almost a million dollars to out local economy through goods and services and everything adding up... The importance of it is its full the people go downtown and spend a lot of their money in our community. And it provides jobs for people, and it's going to be an excellent RV Park when it's finished."They are still working on getting the proper permit but hope to start construction before October 20
