HUMBOLDT COUNTY COLLECTIVE PERMIT STILL UNDER REVIEW

Discussion over the legality of a local medical marijuana dispensary continues today for the Board of Supervisors. The “Humboldt County Collective“ is still under review. County officials say they are still looking at the collective’s financial records. Discussion over their permit first came before the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors in October of 2012, that’s when they decided to delay their decision on whether to revoke their permit for 90 days. At tomorrow’s board of supervisors meeting that topic will continue. County staff will be requesting that the board extend their review process by one-month. This is after supervisors already granted them an extension in January. Steven Lazar, a Planner for Humboldt County said, "they gave us two additional months and we were able to find a consultant, but because of tax season and the challenges of getting everything done we had to give them an extra month to get the work done. So they are doing it right now. And we expect to present it to the board at the next meeting."County staff says despite the extensions, the review is on pace and will be done before the April 9th Board of Supervisors meeting.
