"JAWS OF LIFE" HELP PULL MAN FROM HWY. 101 CRASH; Nurse Passing Scene Helps Save Victim
A man is pulled from his vehicle with the Jaws of Life after crashing off of Highway 101 near Fernbridge.
It was the quick reaction of a local nurse that helped get him to safety. It happened was around 11 a.m. just south of the Fernbridge exit. Highway Patrol Officers on scene say the victim, 54-year-old Milton Warren is a county employee and was driving a County Roads Vehicle, when he likely had a medical condition that caused him to flip his car off the embankment. They say it was Suzanne Mitchell, a registered nurse, who saw the crash happen. She pulled over and ran to the scene to help, eventually aiding in the extrication.
Highway Patrol Officers say Warren was lucky for the quick thinking. They add the driver’s injuries from the crash were moderate, and that he was taken to Redwood Memorial Hospital after being pulled from the wreck. The road was closed for about an hour to clear the scene.
