HSU pays tribute to Longtime Coach

Humboldt State football earned its first GNAC win over the weekend against Dixie State. They have dedicated the victory to former head football coach Bud Van Deren who passed away last thursday (Sept 9) at the age of 85.Van Deren coached the Lumberjacks for 20 seasons. His greatest accomplishment came in 1968 when he led the green and gold to a West Region Championship. Van Deren was selected as coach of the year twice and is a member of the HSU Athletics Hall of Fame.
