Poll Workers Needed for Presidential Primary Election

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM)- As we get closer to the March 3rd Presidential Primary election, Humboldt County is looking for more help at the polls.

It takes around 450 people to staff all the county polling locations and they are still 100 people short. To apply, residents are asked to complete an online poll worker application. Training starts February 10th, and the sooner you sign up, the more options you will have.

Kelly Sanders of the Elections Office says even high school students can help out, but there are some additional requirements.

Poll workers receive a monetary stipend ranging from $45 to $96, and some positions receive a bonus for attending training. For more information, call the Elections Office at (707)-445-7481, or go online to their website.
